Calling all angels!

Dark Angel
pencil, ink, embossing tool, crayon

Guess what?! It's time for another Wicked Wednesday challenge :)  I am very happy that I decided to join in on the fun.  This gurantees that at least once a week, I set aside some time from my crazy busy work schedule to be my creative self.  The best part of it all, I get to share it and see other people's amazing creative endeavors.
When I am creating, nothing else matters.  All my troubles and worries melt away.

Anway, I digress.  This week's theme is about angels.  Here's my angel.  Consider this a portrait of my muse.  The hardest part for me was her wings.  I used an embossing tool to create the lines in each feather and then colored them in to bring the etched image out.  I did the same for the two larger feathers in the background.

Hope you like it just as much as I enjoyed creating it!

Peace and love,
Mary xoxo

Wicked Wednesday Halloween

Princess of the Night
Pencil, crayon, ink

I am so happy to have discovered the world of ATCs!  It's even cooler when you get to share your work with so many talented and creative people.  Since I've joined Wicked Wednesday, I was hooked.  I look forward to seeing other people's submissions and checking out their awesome sites.

This is my submission for the second Wicked Wednesday challenge: Halloween!  I was inspired by the design team's little heart monster.  Scary but cute :)

Let's see what happens this week.  Until then, be well
Peace and love,
Mary xoxo

Trying something new...

Flower girl
The one medium that I am most uncomfortable with is watercolor or any derivation of it.  I see it, I run.  But if I keep doing that, I will never know my potential with this medium.  So I started small.  The flowers are in watercolor and the rest is pencil.
One of my best friends was actually my source of inspiration for this one.  She recently hi-lighted her hair blue and I can't wait to see it!
Well, I can't say I'm comfortable with watercolor, but I'm going to incorporate it more often into my work.  Practice, practice, practice...speaking of which, I'm going to switch over to music mode now.  Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Peace and love,
Mary xoxo

Daydreaming...

Sea of Love
Sometimes my drawings take on a life of their own.  I can't really say what my source of inspiration was for this piece.  But, I am totally in love with the color palette and the way her hair turned out.  I hope you like it just as much as I do.

Have a wonderful weekend everybody!
Peace and love,
Mary xoxo

Firefly

Once again I found my inspiration from lyrics penned by Sal.  He uses words to create a landscape in your mind's eye.  Lucky for me, it's currently posted on his site so you can have a listen.  Click on "Sal's music".  See what kind of picture is created in your mind's canvas.
